Jill Valentine is sent to investigate an abandoned cruise ship called "The Queen Zenobia" to search for Chris Redfield. Along with her partner Parker Luciani, she investigates the ship and finds several new creatures from a new strain of virus. Jill and her partner are eventually trapped on the ship and forced to fight for their survival and unravel the mystery behind the creatures on the ship. Revelations carries the save level of intensity and action that many old-school Resident Evil fans are familiar with and it takes advantage of the 3DS's features with touch screen puzzles and the use of dual screens. Revelations also has part upgrades that Jill can equip to her weapon to give the weapon extra enhancements.
Revelations also has an unlockable survival mode called Raid mode where players can team up online in order to battle through enemies in stages. The Raid mode has the same action gameplay found in the main game and it also gives an rpg feel to it with it's level gaining for characters. All weapons can give enhancements and status effects. Raid mode has three different modes of difficulty and an extra stage as well. Many side characters can be unlocked in Raid mode. The console version of Revelations has extra outfits for each Raid mode character that aren't in the 3DS version.
This game is also known as BioHazard: Revelations in Japan.
