Square Enix today announced Final Fantasy VII will be joining the PlayStation 4 library as a port. After all, no one wants to see an HD remake of such an iconic game after almost twenty years. No, of course not.
To be clear, Final Fantasy VII for PS4 is pretty much just the PC port that's been released over and over again for years. One can only guess that, at this point, Square Enix is just trying to make sure every generation gets a release of said port.
Anyway, expect the Final Fantasy VII re-release to land on PS4 in the spring, and you can see the announcement trailer below. Maybe if enough people buy this port, the company will actually begin considering that HD remake -- for iOS!

FF7 is quite ugly - they really should make this thing work up to modern standards.
And, very importantly - add the ability to skip animations like they added in FF8.
if you have the PS3 version, you still have to pay for the PS4 version? what the actual *bleep*?! where is the loyalty bonus these days?
