A new tweak for shooter Tribes: Ascend has been uncovered, and it's a big one. Simply changing one value in an .ini file is reported by just about all users as having a major effect on mouse responsiveness, which could majorly improve your gameplay. Here's how to do it, courtesy of Redditor ZProtoss:
C:\Users*YOUR PC NAME*\Documents\My Games\Tribes Ascend\TribesGame\Config
Insert under DirectionalLightMaps=True the following:
"OneFrameThreadLag=False" (without " marks)
Save the ini.
In case you're wondering exactly what you're doing here, the idea is essentially you're trading mouse responsiveness for framerate. So, there is a potential downside: if your hardware isn't up to snuff, you may notice a significant impact on your framerate. If you've got more recent goods, though, it should be nothing noticeable.
Let us know how you find it.
