Zelda II: The Adventure of Link User Reviews
I can relate to Zelda 2: The Adventure Of Link in a lot of ways. In the same way that I'm the girl amongst three brothers, Zelda 2 is the action RPG amongst many overhead adventure games. Much like how it took me until my later teenage years to truly find my place in the world with the people who like me for who I am, it took a while for Zelda 2 to truly find its audience. I can't exactly remember what the press was for it back then, but I'd imagine that it being a departure from the original Legend Of Zelda might not have gone so well and I'd also imagine that its diffculty, much like my a...
Tries to switch up the gameplay and it works.
Graphics are impressive.
You die really often as enemies tend to cripple you, die and rely on the weaklings to cripple you further.
Soundtrack isn't as good this time around.
The enemies are fairly challenging and the bosses are even more, requiring a LOT of leveling up, searching and other stuff.
Backgrounds in some castles are sometimes distracting, but at least everything looks good.
Not as good as the original Legend Of Zelda's soundtrack, but at least it's still good. I like the town, cave and castle (ESPECIALLY THE CASTLE) songs but the overworld...ehh, not so great. Still good though.
As opposed to walking around an overworld slaying enemies in a hack and slash sort of way, they have you in a sor...
A variety of new things you can do aswell as the old stuff. The bad:
I'm not too sure about the layout of the game.
There is alot of backtracking involved and it gets very hard at certain points.
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link follows up after the first Zelda title on the NES. The graphics arn't quite as good as the first because the layout of the screen is completly different and i don't like it as much. The sound is a little boring on this one and the levels to suit it arn't that great although there are a few acceptions. It's quite hard to get used to the game and it's just pretty hard in general because of all the backtracking and such.
Overall it's a pretty fun game to play through although it may not seem like it but you just have to stick at it a while.
Longer & deeper than the original. Improved graphics & gameplay. New techniques to learn including magic spells. The bad:
Difficulty level is rather high. Sometimes you need a certain item to clear certain areas-going back and forth gets a little redundant.Summary:
The sequel to the original Legend Of Zelda switches the gameplay from overhead to primarily side-scroller, plus adds in other elements like experience-building. The story is much the same-Zelda's been put to sleep by Ganon and only Link can wake her up, and his travels take him throughout Hyrule to a final confrontation with, of all enemies, himself!
The graphics are much improved over the original, and backgrounds are detailed nicely. The sounds are OK but get boring quickly. Gameplay-wise, Link learns new techniques and can also use magic, which adds an extra dimension to the action. New e...
