WWII Online: Blitzkrieg User Reviews
Truly Large World War II European Battle Ground with a sense of producing an overall effort. Worth a test ride or a free weeks subscription. The bad:
Extremely slow developement that at time seems Helter Skelter and unorganized. Hard to master and some leveling up factors keep you from enjoying all the weapons till you figure out how to keep from dieing by master players and Tanks fireing and bomes hitting your spawn in point.Summary:
While this game has been around a very long time it has never met the hype. It is truely the " wargammers dream" but without the developement team to pull it off. Having said that the game has it's addiction points. The ability to sense an enemy attack on a flank then setting up the ambush in a French Panhard Armored Car can make your day after destroying two Panzer IV's and three Infantry transports.
The difficult part of this game is having to wait so long for whatever it is going to be! Really no direction in its effort with a hodge podge of mechanics that mimic actual unit movements ...
none, there aint none, not anymore, use to be good points, but no mo no mo.The bad:
Recently CRS has dipped their fingers into the sewers of game ballance, and severely nerfed the only german fighter in the game, THE 109.
Its firepower was reduced by about 90%, yes im serious. And since there are so many planes in the game (planes have more of an effect in this game then the USAF had in the Gulf War), it has seriously swung game ballance into the allied favor. And its been like this for about 3 months now.
This was the 3rd NERFAGE in 6-9 months the german planes have undergone, while allied planes get nothing but improvements to rate of fire, turning capabilities, armor an...
WWII battlefield populated with thousands of other soldiers at any given time. Mayhem, trickery and strategy that actually pay off. I get so into this game it's unreal. Something I can't do with most games. I've played all the popular online games and this is the only one that doesn't get boring. It's best to play with a group of people or at least another friend. That way one of you can pull a tank or a truck and drive the other as a soldier and make assaults on cities/bases. To their credit the developers keep make consistent improvements. The game is only going forward not backward. Detail and frame rates continue to rise. The bad:
Currenly I have to go to a friend's house to use one of his PCs to play the game as I only have Macs currently. I am dying for the Mac version to come out and unfortunately I missed the last closed beta invitation. As soon as this thing is available in open beta I'm there. If I had the money I would have already bought a PC just to play this game.Summary:
You can pick up a copy of WWII Online in the store now for $10. Granted it's a very old copy and you'll want a high speed connection to download all the updates. On the flip side apparently a new boxed version will be coming out with a large map included and the 1.7 version of the game when it's available. Sounds good. I just look forward to the Mac version.
The good, well the whole idea of this game is good. Picking from vehicles and planes to fight thousands of people. The graphics are fine considering the size of the map and the gameplay is great, the tanks and planes are better than most tank and plane simulators i have played. The bad:
The bad is what ruins this game. While playing online the lag is horrible. You are lucky to get 2 Frames per second. This ruins everything, flying becomes almost impossible and everything else becomes less fun.
Also there is alot boring time you spend getting to the battles to sometimes lag and end up dead before you even get to fight.
The offline mode shows how fun this game could be lag free. But until the problems are fixed, i dont think this game is worth paying the subscription for.
No huge requiriments for the game, multi-player for up to 200 people. The bad:
.Graphics suck, horrbie sound, speed, music. There is only like one huge mission avabable. The company plans to stop making all maps and , just stick with the France map. Thats right NO MORE MAPS WHAT A RIPE. The company only sold about 350,000 copies which is very very small in todays PC economy. If the grapichs WERE better, and the sound inproved then ,maybe i would give it a 6 out of 9. And one last thing, the messages take like an our to show up even though i have a 900mhz computer. The A.I in this game ARE THE WORST I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTEREDSummary:
DO not, REPEAT DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. IT costs 30.00 plus 10.00 bucks a month to support online play that 120.00 dollars a year!!!
GO buy: MAx payne, Red Faction, 007: agent under fire or others but please stay away from this low-life game which is s discruss to the PC world!
Being an extreamly large WWII buff, I was able to get into this game in no time whatsoever. Basically, you will battle your opponents, which can number well into the dozens upon dozens, in an all out war filled with everything from infantry men to tanks. Yes sir, it is a battle of the strategies when it all comes down to it. Be a good general and you will command the winning team, if not, you will loose much more than your rank...
As the era a online game starts to unfold rapidly in front of our eyes, there will no doubt be many games that just throw a shoddy online feature into their game i...
