World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor is the fifth major expansion set for Blizzard's long-running MMORPG, and will give players the opportunity to travel to an alternate past where the orcish homeworld of Draenor still exists and is in danger of being conquered by the Iron Horde of none other than Garrosh Hellscream.
Players pursue Garrosh as he escapes into this version of the past, bringing along with him technology from the current time to arm his Iron Horde and construct a Dark Portal which he will use to attack present-day Azeroth. Players will also come face to face with the legendary heroes and clans of Azeroth's past.
Warlords of Draenor raises the player level cap to 100, and introduces new zones, dungeons and raids as well as the most challenging level of raid content yet called Mythic. Players can form garrisons of NPCs in order to fortify their presence in Draenor's harsh new environment and better tackle Garrosh's deadly new horde.
Players can instantly "boost" one character (including newly created ones) to level 90 in order to experience Warlords of Draenor's content. Character models and animations for all races have been completely updated to bring World of Warcraft up to more modern graphical standards.
Warlords of Draenor went live at midnight on November 13th 2014, where it quickly become the target of a DDoS (Distributed Denial of Servce) attack. This severely affected in-game latency and thus the gaming experience for players, forcing Blizzard to work around the clock to address the issue including implementing server queues for high population worlds.
