Wild ARMs 2 User Reviews
Wild Arms two was a huge and very detailed revelation for me Im sorry I didn't play the first I just picked this up and was low on money so i bought it. This game is really long and your gonna play for a while so don't think your gonna leave. There is semi alot of characters with an evil form for Ashley. It goes really good as an a rpg it has all the key elements like length, nice backrounds on the characters, some great boss battles (which are a ton). The whole concept is to save the earth with the rest of your arms members from a terrorist group. Lastly the opening is kinda of kool if you like anime the opening is set up like that. The bad:
Wild arms is a great rpg with a gripping timeline, well the first 20 hours are really grat, but then theres just a time when you just get really really bored and you ask yourself why is this added it dosen't even go!! (like uneeded boss battles) Graphic wise this game didn't live up to the standards it was capable of (chrono chross is an example) beside from the graphics the sound could of been tweeked up alot theres like 8 different sonds but it was okay. And just to start on odessa HOW MANY TIME WILL YOU HAVE TO BEAT THEM. Just when you think it's over none of the members of odessa really go down for good, youve got to beat them over and over which will sometimes fustrate you.Summary:
You will waste countless hours of your life on this game you will fail many tests screw some girlfriends out of a date oh you get it don't you. Its a great game made by sony which has it's experience with rpg's. Again this game has very good solid gameplay thatll keep you hooked for some time untill twords the end. The boss battles get realy easy if your leveled up. In detail this game could of had a ton of more anime based cutscenes that's what I was looking for. Wild arms is a fast past lenghty game that has many great factors that build a perfect game well almost. Each character has thei...
Story, Gameplay, Battle System...The bad:
Graphics, and encounter rate...Summary:
This was an awesome game, when I first saw it and read through a couple of the reviews it sounded... boring. But after I started playing it I was hooked[for a while at least]. After a little while, the games story got pretty boring[save the world from impending doom], and the last battles are almost impossible to beat.
More playable characters than the first, plenty of extras, more ARMs customization, random battle evasion, personal skills. The bad:
Lackluster storyline, the search function, the attempt at 3D graphics, not much improvement from first if any.Summary:
Although I don't believe this title fared as well as the first Wild Arms it was solid nonetheless. WA2 probably only appealed to fans of the original which doesn't help it get the recognition it deserves. The developers mainly stuck with what made the original so good while trying to add a little innovation to keep it fresh.
The more control offered in ARMs customization was a plus but the search function failed horribly. It was more annoying than anything. The random battle evasion was a nice touch as random battles are one of the biggest peeves on most rpg fan's lists. There are 6 playabl...
When I first played the original Wild Arms game for the Playstation console, I learned never to judge a game by it's graphics. The story made me never wanting to turn off the system, unfortunately, that doesn't apply to this "sequel".
The original Wild Arms was released in 1997, the sequel is released three years later and the graphics look exactly the same! What was Sony thinking? Yes, the graphics did improve slightly, but this was released in 2000! The graphics could of been so much better with the power of the PSX.
The music was pretty good. The songs make you want...
More playable characters. Actual story development.
Plus the fact that Ashley (main character) can transform! Oh, and you can name almost everyone relevant to the plot!
Battle pace is abit... slower than the first, but oh well, it's easy to get used to.Summary:
What I liked the most is that there was SO MUCH MUSIC! Different battle themes, different town themes (and on 2 discs)!
The Terrorist Group Odessa is also a nice twist to the usual "save the world" plot.
Wild Arms 2 introduced a colorful array of characters and history, opting from the graphics and semi-convieniant gameplay, the storyline and exceptional systems, from Skill points to magic, have shown through to potiential. The game had lots of outlets for wonderful outcome, but it seems those weren't taken advantage of.The bad:
Graphics were horribly blocky, rough, and certainly cut-by-cut, although it does not reflect on the story or quality, it does have a pinch-hit on gameplay. The radar system was virtually annoying, trying to find things land or by sea were almost impossible and improbible if you have lost place in the story. Battle was semi-improvised, haphazard, and loosely torn, from misplaced boss fights to semi-agitable enemy encounters.Summary:
It could have been more than it was, although this installment of Wild Arms fit quite nicely. I would recommend it to a die-hard RPG/Adventure/fantasy fan, but the game itself would be a fine add to a game collection, aside from it's graphical downfalls and inner conflicts with gameplay.
