Twisted Metal: Black User Reviews
-Solid map design
-Storyline seems almost cheaply broken from past titles
-Music, though good, sometimes seems unfitting
Ah, the Twisted Metal series. As of now the longest-running Playstation-only series, revives on the Playstation 2 in the form of Twisted Metal: Black, a much darker, and surprisingly more insane re-imagining of the game.
Where there were once light, reality-based maps, there are now dark, almost gothic fictional maps. Where there were once comedic, ironic, stereotype characters with amusing background stories, there are now psychotic inmates from an asylum. The best part of all this is that none of it is tacked on, and it is an effective re-imagination. Every aspect of this game feels fright...
Great multiplayer mode.
Good sound and tracks.
Best graphics for a Twisted Metal game.
Fairly short lifespan.
Average single-player mode.
Lacks of extras or unlockables.
Game is quite dark.
Twisted Metal makes it's debut on the PS2 with Twisted Metal: Black. Twisted Metal: black lets you choose a car, and then battle it out with other cars, using all kinds of weapon mayhem, including rocket launchers, machine guns and level based weapons to help you destroy your opponents.
The single player mode consists of 8 levels and although fun, the mode wears off rather quickly. However, it's the multiplayer mode where Twisted Metal: Black really shines. Battle with your friends in twenty different arenas, or team up with a friend with Co-op mode. It's a fun mode and gives TM: B a longer...
Well, I am and will always be a huge fan of the Twisted Metal Series, which was actually my first series in my Playstation history. Anyhoo, this particular one was also my first PS2 game ever, so I embraced it with wide-open arms. And I wasn't disappointed. The whole game is a lot more darker and sninister then the other 4. The other 4 had a degree of childish fun in it, I mean the last one had Sweet Tooth running a Carnival. Nice and all, but not exactly Resident Evil Material. With this one. Sweet Tooth is a vicious killer. Yeah. Carnival Clown to Serial Killer is how I state the game in ...
This game will completely amaze you compared to the other TM games for PS1. It adds so much onto an already great video game series. Cool characters, great storylines, fun levels, great special attacks, and much more. This game is not an easy one to beat also, so you will get well worth your money. For example, to unlock the final character, Minion, you must beat the storyline with all the characters. And beleive me, there are many. The bad:
-After awhile you may get bored of this game, but when you return to it, it is just as fun.
-There isn't a lot about this game that is bad, which makes it that much better.
- So hard
Twisted Metal Black is the best Twisted Metal game by far. You should buy it as soon as possible, and it has been out for awhile so it should be cheap. You will have so much fun with this game as I did and many others have. I can't wait for a sequel, if there will be one.
Good graphics, solid controls, cool vehicles, tough computer A.I.The bad:
Levels are sometimes a little too big and makes it a chore to try and track down your enemies, some vehicles and their specials could have been improved uponSummary:
It is nice to see the Twisted Metal series getting back on track. After TM2, everything started going downhill from there. Now with TM:Black, the darkest, most sinister installment of the series has found a home on the PS2 with solid gameplay and creepy characters who have even creepier backgrounds. Most of the old weapons have returned and there are some new cool ones as well like environmental attacks and satellite missiles. Whether you play against the computer or friend you're up for a good challenge since the computer A.I. is pretty well done and the bosses are tougher than ever.
Great story, erases TM3 and TM4 from the Twisted Metal universe(thank god), and is the darkest most sadistic game in a LONG time...The bad:
It gets tough, real toghSummary:
The Twisted Metal is back, back in black(you knew it would be said eventually) and in all it's glory. the story line is pulled off wonderfuly and creapely. worth every cent. The graphics are pretty good and the vehicles change when you switch weapons( it's pretty cool to see a trunk pop open and a gas barrel roll out). buy it now, or get the net adapter and get the TMB online for FREE i repeat FREE.
