Trust No-One

The good:

Interesting plot premise, exciting battle system.

The bad:

Difficulty in exploration, lack of information on how to complete missions.

Summary:

Anyone could be an alien.
Could be the guy in the next room, or the one standing next to you.
Or it could be YOU!
Just kidding... OR AM I?

Seriously though, The Thing had some great promise, but suffers from a few serious flaws.

To comment on the more positive aspects first, I will say that the premise of the movie was a great idea to translate to video game format.
You must be vigilant, and work to gain the trust of your squad members and that of the strangers you meet along the way, because they're just as paranoid as you are.
You can earn this trust by healing them, giving them weapons, or perf...

Creepy, difficult, intense, and rad.

The good:

-Time comsuming
-Definitely takes you out of the real world
-Requires 100% strategy

The bad:

-Irritating at times
-Very jumpy
-Exceptionally hard

Summary:

I loved this movie from 1982. Loved it. Kurt Russel was the man. So when I saw it for 9 bucks at movie gallery, I had to pick it up. (I actually broke my commitment with myself to only buy a game when I beat the last one ).

At first I was just confused; I had to pay attention to fear and trust, and once I started to act funny, my characters started yelling at me. Very realistic. Once I got the hang of the easy stuff, I started to realize how hard the game was. It takes a ton of strategy and you can't just shoot your way through. You must develop a very good system. For example, the only way...

Interesting to Play

The good:

~Your interesting team members (T.M)
~Check up on T.M's emotions
~The graphics
~The atmosphere

The bad:

~Replay value
~Can't choose levels, unless you make a save in a different slot each time, (confusing)

Summary:

At first I had never heard of the movie, it looked like an interesting game so I hired it out, and yes it was quite interesting, more than I thought, though it's not the most action pact game out there.

The Thing's story line is like the movie's, not much to it, but lots of killing and blood, that's all I'm saying. Your T.M's have an emotional state where you can check up on all the time, if you go into somewhere really creepy and dark and most of your T.M's have died, well most likely your T.M's will lose it and start shooting around the place, if you want to cool them off you can take them...

Now this should be a game to get for your PS2, as it is a very intellegent game. At first I had never heard of the movie, it looked like an interesting game so I hired it out, and yes it was quite interesting, more than I thought, though it's not the most action pact game out there.

The Thing Review by MLD

Summary:

Here is a game that was from a movie that came out in 1982 and made only a little over 3 million in the theatres. Yet it's a cult classic for horror fans. Another little trivia fact about the film. If you have seen the movie you should realize that there are no women in the entire movie. The closest thing to a woman is the voice on the computer when MacReady is playing chess.

As for the game, it takes place right after the movie ended. Which I loved, since you get to see the area where the men were at and you even get to see a few familiar faces! The Creatures in the game are just li...
