The Sims User Reviews
Where to start. This game is like an addiction. Was you start playing, you don't want to stop. Though graphics improve over the years, it's still an impressive game when it comes to how smooth the graphics run. The music has to be one of my favourite things about the game. It may sound strange, but the music is great. It really gives you the realism when getting to choose what kind of music you want to play and getting your sim to dance to the music is just part of the hilarity.
The game itself had so many features to choose from, take your sim for example. Once the gender has been chosen, there are so many sims to select from. It may not have as big a selection as the new and improved 'Sims 2' but it's good enough. Your house is another bonus to a great game like this. You can either buy a house for your sim or simply build your own. Everything to carpet design to the wallpaper gives this game such incredible quality to it.
Your sim is your puppet and you are he puppeteer. Use your little sim how you like when playing in the game because there's so many things you can do. Fall head over heels with the guy next door...even though you are a guy. Become enemies with the couple across the road, make friends with neighbours to help you with your job. Ah yes, your job, I almost forgot about that you. Your job searching is a basic look in the newspaper...or if you have enough money on the PC. Though it takes up valuable fun time for your sim and can get them quite stressful, you are in need of money if you want food on the table. The promotions were challenging and clever. Making friends, bringing up your abilities such as Charisma and such was just one of the many fun things to do.
There was the occasional glitch that would come up time to time with drove me insane. Also some of the disasters that are to happen, such as your kitchen catching fire...though it can turn out to be quite amusing...but can get your sim killed if you don't have a fire alarm installed.
Though when recieving phone calls from some people, there's the odd chance of winning money....but most of the time and this is probably the one thing that annoyed me most...the psychic advisor who would phone up and tell you something that didn't make sense. Waste of bloody time in my opinion. >_<
Over all, this game is really just a barrel of laughs. It has so many options, so many choices that it makes your head spin...literally. Though the game is quite an addiction, that addiction can soon fade a few so many weeks of playing...but usually you can or do get that craving to play it once more.
There are many challenges and tasks for you and your sim to encounter, which is what makes the game so impressive.
You play as a GOD!
You control the Sims
How Rich they Are
Everything! You are God, you control these Sims fates
It's all in your hands
You have to wait for you Sims to wake up when they are asleep and all you can do is sit there and wait.
Limits to amount off stuff you can but in your homes
Lights take up alot of your Room SPACE!
No Naked Sims
Overall this game is great, great for when you are bored and need something to do. It will kill alot of your time and when you get tried of playing it, four or more hours has gone by. You control your Sims Fate, you can make them die, have sex, have babies, fight, cry, homeless or rich. You have the power, you are a God in this game. You control everything, the Sims world is in your hands. What will you do with it, destory it or make it your Empire.
The good?Im not sure! The idea is brill!I love splitting up the Goths and Newbies! The revoulotion in gameplay was all down to this one game!Amazing!Go Will Wright!YEAH!The house designing is good and the premade families are ok and the readymade houses are nice. There is a veriety of objects like the fun hot tub and barbacue for midnight parties! The bad:
I dont like the way the game is so limited to ONE neighbourhood. The skins were rubbish! The faces were square,no changes in make-up or hair!Thank GOD for The Sims 2!The objects are flat and square and you cant do much in the way of interacting with objects. The idea that if you kiss or cuddle someone you get a baby! The kitchen fires are unrealistic because the walls dont get burnt or scratched and the carpets or florrs dont get worn.Summary:
I think this game is okay if you want to break free from reality but the Sims 2 is more detailed and you can make families and generations! The idea of the game is good and you can almost create yourself but the skins are so limited and 2-D.I think that is why the Sims 2 was suth a hit.The game is 3-D and realistic.
+enjoyable to see sim maturing
+get a life mode.
slow gameplay which can be slightly slow and uniteresting.
most of your room mates in GTL mode can't even pickup after themselves!
First, let me say this game is NOT for those who want action and to satiate(satisfy) their trigger finger. This game's target would probably be for RPG and RTS fans because you can squeeze replay out for an eternity. The characters are slightly generic, but can be modified acceptably. For a life simulation game though it's pretty interesting. Most people that I know of or have heard of get sucked into the game. The previous Sims games were very addictive and this is no exception. Also, you can kill your sims if they cause damage to your hair by you ripping it out in frustraion, this game is...
- Completely Original Idea
- Excellent Graphics
- Takes Almost Nothing to Run on High Graphics
- Awesome Gameplay
- Able to Watch Life!
- No Sex =(
- No Animals/Pets
- Sims Die too Easy
I first got The Sims as a Christmas present about 3 years ago and played it non-stop on my computer. All I did was play The Sims; ALL DAY! I made gigantic houses and downloaded objects and skins and made awesome storylines and all this stuff...But then it got boring. So I put it on the shelf. And it sits there until this day.
The Sims seems to mislead you with its awesome gameplay for the first two weeks. You build sweet houses and awesome careers and watch as your Sims grow old, meet other Sims, fall in love and make great purchases all in the safety of your own home...Then it gets boring. ...
+ very addicitve
+ 2 player mode
- controls are harder than pc but its not a big problem
- mainly for people that like controling other peoples lives
Sims was first release on the PC and the game was a huge hit. So it was just a matter of time before he game was realesed onto game consoles.
The Sims can become very very addictive. This is a game where you can be playing it all day and you really just wouldnt get bored but for other users it could seem boring as your control people lives.
Controls for The Sims are abit hard to understand and for a new commer to the game they would find it really hard to control but us sims fans expected that cos we know that a keyboard has alot more butttons that a PS2 controller.
