Geralt's story is coming to a close in The Witcher III: Wild Hunt. Expect a vastly evolved world in Wild Hunt as CD Projekt RED opens up the world, literally making it open world, and expanding the setting by up to thirty times the size of The Witcher II. In addition to going open world, action in The Witcher III has once again been retuned to provide a less complex, clearer form of combat in response to criticisms that The Witcher II gameplay could be off-putting. Despite this, CD Projekt RED promises that their trilogy-ending epic will have just as much depth and complexity as ever. More than ever. CD Projekt RED wouldn't lie, would they?
In The Witcher III Geralt of Rivia, the witcher by which The Witcher was named, is following a friend who seems to be deeply in trouble. As the story progresses, Geralt will become involved in a war between the Wild Hunt and the Northern Kingdoms. A war which only Geralt can end, likely with much blood and witchery.
CD Projekt RED Will be using the latest version of their in-house engine, REDengine 3, which will be debuting in The Witcher III: Wild Hunt. The engine will finally use 64-bit technology in order to produce more "life-like" visuals, as well as improved effect usage like bokeh depth-of-view, color-grading and tessellation for terain.
