The Conduit User Reviews
-Fun and mysterious story line. With many plot twists and discoveries, you'll be wanting to uncover them before you know it.
-Fun extras. Things like: Hidden codes in the story mode is also a very fun and unique feature to this game. Instead of just a campaign, it adds fun hidden messages that you can look to find.
-A wide range of weapons to choose from.
-Fun wii based controls that enables the use of the wii gun, and or motion sensor. In addition, the adjustment to the controls and look of the game makes it easy to use by anyone, even beginners.
-The vast multi player that enables the use of friend play, and around the world is a great feature. With seven maps and several gun sections to use it's never a bore! This game also allows you to choose how your multi player character looks like which allows great variety. It enables you to color him how you want as well. It also allows for the use of wii speak.
-Bad graphics. Although they seem alright for wii, you'll find it very hard to 'be there' when some of the surroundings look off placed compared to other games.
-A shortened campaign? The campaign, with it's many surprises and fun's, drops off at a horrible spot and sets up for an entire new game. Instead, they should have just increased the length of this game. There's only about nine campaign maps, all of which can be beaten relatively easy.
-Multiplayer problems! The whole wifi thought to this game was a great idea, but not enough time was spent in doing so. Many times you get spawned glitched, unable to move from the beginning of the match, along with many hackers that can do just about anything there is. Getting in a match with someone who simply can't die, and has increased the power of his guns only isn't fun.
-Weapon selections. This game doesn't allow you to choose your weapons and sides; such as a class. No, at the lobby the players will vote on the map and gun set along with the game type. You get what the lobby randomly chooses out of the batch; with the higher bids with a higher chance. This eliminates some chances of you using the gun you would like to, and/or the map and game type.
Bringing a First person shooter to the wii was a wonderful idea, and on some degrees they succeeded with this game. It has wonderful campaign and multi player, but the lack of well spent time into this game was a horrid mistake. If you're looking for a well made shooter then I'd suggest the xbox 360, but for a wii shooter; this game is for you. It has many ups and downs, and excels past other previosly made shooter games for the wii, but in some areas of the game you'll be caught saying:
"If only they spent more time".
+ Superb FPS Gameplay
+ Lush visuals
+ Excellent voice acting
+ Great 12 player online mode
+ Large selection of weapons
+ Cool storyline
- Dull cutscenes
- Few faults with online server
- Single player gets too hard
- No offline multiplayer
The Conduit could be considered the Wii's answer to Halo on the X-Box. Both involve you blasting the living hell out of aliens (as do many other shooter games out there) and have frantic online modes. But is The Conduit a worthy opponent to the popular Halo franchise? Let's find out...
You are Agent Michael Ford who is contacted by John Adams, head of the shadow government known as the Trust, which have secretly protected America for over 200 years. You are sent to recover a stolen Trust artifact called the All Seeing Eye (ASE)....and I'll leave it there. I don't want to spoil now, ...
The story, the graphics were amazing for the wii, the levels, the easter eggs gave me something to look for while playing when I finished campaign. The bad:
The online was sort of disappointing. It lagged a bit, and it was kind of a mess. I also noticed some similarities and possible ripoffs from the game "Halo".Summary:
Instead of a catchy introduction, let me just clear somethings out for people who never played the game. Drudge = weird mutant creatures that are your enemy. Trust = Humans with advanced weapons and suits. Also your enemy. Michael Ford = The main character. Prometheus = The guy who guides you through the game.
A good story I would say, instead of being one of those games that you just go around shooting stuff with no real meaning at all, it gives us some nice speeches on certain parts. They even went as far to quote George Orwell. I start to wonder if this is a game or a lesson. ...
~Fantastic graphics engine
~Arguably the best controls of any console FPS ever
~Addictive Multiplayer with a variety of online modes
~Single player is short, generally lasting between 5-7 hours with no real replay incentive
~The story isn't particuarly impressive unless you delve into the backstory
~Mediocre art direction leads to bland environments and do the graphics engine no justice whatsoever
~Online tends to be laggy with 8+ people
Once upon a time there was a video games console called the Nintendo Wii. He wasn't as big or strong as his brothers the 360 and PS3 and all he had was kiddy games with a few good titles to his name. Then one day, a nice group of people called High Voltage Software came along and said "we're going to make you a quality FPS" and they lived happily ever after.
Well I never was good at writing stories, The Conduit is a First Person Shooter built from the ground-up for the Nintendo Wii, created with the intention of supplying the 'hardcore' audience with the game they've been crying ...
-Precise and well done Wii controls with little hassle due to them being fully customizable.
-One of the best looking games on the Wii with many different graphical effects. Not quite at 360/PS3 level, but close enough that this is the best looking game on the Wii.
-Many different weapons, all very fun to use. Each one requires skill in some way or another and none of them are considered over powered. One of the few games out there with great weapon balancing.
-A short but sweet Single Player experience. AI is well made (nothing breath taking, however) and the difficulty will keep you busy for a while.
-Online multiplayer with 12 players is a great addition as well as Wii Speak for friends matches.
-Plenty of well made maps in multiplayer.
-Good storyline with some nice twists.
-Ranking system involved in multiplayer that will keep some players addicted.
-Plenty of extras such as Cheats, Concept Art, and even Achievements to add re-playability.
-The ASE is well implemented in a way that it reveals puzzles and helps find secrets throughout the game without being a large intrusion on the actual gun play.
-While the multiplayer is great, the experience varies extremely depending on your connection speed. Some, like me, have experienced no problems finding a match and having little to no lag throughout them, but some others have been known to get various glitches and connection problems trying to connect. Luckily, HVS is working on ways to release patches and fix these problems.
-The Single player is a very straight forward, run and gun type campaign meaning if your into much more tactical shooting then you might want to give this game a rent.
-Some of the storyline, while well narrated, is rather cliched which may turn off some people.
-The campaign is slightly short and will only last 8-10 hours. Luckily there are multiple reasons to replay it, but those looking for a long storyline may want to look at a different gam- I mean, genre.
One of the most highly anticipated Wii games and one of the most highly anticipated shooters of 2009 has finally hit North America. But to those who don't have the game (or Europeans and Aussies) are most likely wondering: Did it deliver on the hype or was seeing truly deceiving? I'll be reviewing this game with my standards at most great FPS games on the market today, and will not praise this game or condone it due to it being a Wii shooter.
The storyline follows Mr.Ford, a government agent looking for answers behind an alien invasion, John Adams, a mysterious terrorist named Prometheus, a...
