Superman: Shadow of Apokolips User Reviews
AWESOME. BEST (PS2) cartoon superhero comic based came I ever played on any system. Challenging but more importantly, unbelievable freedom and the flying, amazing controls, I can't say enough about that and how the game builds up in a clever tutorial way showing you how to do all of superman's powers. The bad:
repetitive taunting, really not that bad, had to dig for this.Summary:
if u hate something or feel slighted, you write about it without thinking warning others, if you really like a game, you share it, once you beat it.
Well I felt I needed to review it since the reviews here are negatitive
I got this game because a friend gave up on it, because he didn't have the time and doesn't like to be too challenged. I've beat it and it's not that replayable, so I loan it out, because I want others to enjoy it. I HIGHLY recommend renting or swaping for this game.
The graphics and gameplay are excellentThe bad:
Way too short like has been said before. I've beaten it twice already. Its about 1/3 the length it should be.Summary:
I had such high expectations for this game. I pre-ordered it months ago. I'm a huge Superman fan and a huge fan of the cartoon as well. I could not believe the game ended so quickly. That would be ok if there were some extras that made it worth it, but there is not. The spiderman game on PS2 was awesome so I figured a Superman game would be phenomenal. The story is ok, but it was very predictable. You had to do certain things in a certain order and that just sucks. If you have too much extra money lying around the house......I'd still just rent this game.
Great fun using all of Supey's powers. So fun it's addictive. The bad:
The camera gets a little jumpy every now and then, but it's not that bad. Also, the redundant taunts from enemies get real old, real fast.Summary:
The Ugly: WAAAAAAAAAAY WAY WAY TOO SHORT! Four hours and I'm done. COME ON!!! Also, the gameplay felt so predetermined; I may just be spoiled after GTA3, but I really wish they had created more freedom in the game.
Graphics were great. They really went in accordance with the cartoon.
Music was nothing to gush over. It's also nothing to cuss over.
Anyway, as far as being Superman, the game does a great job getting you hooked. But if I were you I'd rent it, beat it, and save your money.
the game play and graphics are extremely smooth, controls are simple (maybe too simple at times) and easy to learn, free flying around metropolis will make any superman fan giddy. all voices in games are true to the originals done in the animated series and sound great!, and of course nothing beats being able to throw just about any availble overly large object at the bad guys, or just punching through concrete walls for fun, but i admit that in my opinion the x-zay vision is a bit lacking, but not enough to even be bothered all and all this game is a tribute to the man of steel.
