Suikoden review
It's Suikoden

The good:

It's Suikoden.

The bad:

1 rune slot
Not able to walk without the Holy Rune
Marie, the Scam-Artist

This is where it all started. The story is about a young man, Tir, who obtains the soul Eater rune and ends up becoming the leader of the liberation army. IT is your role to build up your army and take on the Scarlet Moon Empire which is under the influence of Windy (the villian of the game).

While this game is great in may regards, some elements just pissed the hell out of me. Such as the 1 rune slot, and only being able to walk with the Holy rune equiped. In my opinion, this is the worst of the series but I suppose it had to start somewhere.

As with all suikodens, there are 3 types of battle systems. The wars, which are like paper, rock, scissors with a few extras. The 1v1 Duels, Which IS paper rock scissors, and the normal battles which is actually a pretty decent battle system.

The graphics are nowhere near suikoden 2 standards but this game is a lot older. The music is great, but again, not quite up to suikoden 2's standard. The plot is one of its strong points. It's one of those stories that you will always remember.

Overall, I found this to be a great game and worthy of being in the suikoden series.
