Simon The Sorceror 3D User Reviews

Love it!

The good:

The gameplay is addictive, the graphics are nice and some of the stuff Simon says is hilarious.

The bad:

Some of the camera angles are a bit confusing, so you need to keep your wits about you.

Summary:

V. cool- I have the two previous Simon games as well, and the game certainly lived up to its high reputation. There were a few minor bugs at first, but there is a patch on their website at www.simon3d.com which irons just about all of them out. I hope a Simon 4 will be out soon- thanks Adventuresoft!

Simon Simon he's our man, if he can't do it then Melissa sure can! Um...

The good:

Bursting with humour, challenging puzzles and great voice acting.

The bad:

So many bugs n glitches you'll end up throwing your computer out a window in frustration.

Summary:

Simon; he's a sarcastic jerk, yet you'll love him all the same. The people who have complained about the graphics and the glitches can just shove it, because neither would put me off this game. Ok, so the graphics are simple and a tad blocky, but everything is colourful, cartoony and clear. Simon has a range of different face expressions (mostly either looking smarmy or slightly confused), and all the characters have their own individual personalites, adding to the involvment of the game. Aside from the all the puzzles, the voice acting and the humour are the best things about this game, in...

Simon the Sorcerer 3D

The good:

Puzzles are brilliant. Humour is very funny. Its logic thinking all the way.

The bad:

Graphics leave a lot to be desired. There are a lot of bugs and glitches in the game.

Summary:

I've played 1 and 2 and I agree with what people say: 3d was probably not necessary, but if they wouldn't have...... nobody would have bought it.
In chapter 2 there was not much guidance. Just a few more hints would have been nice as getting from one place to the next seemed to be taking ages. I was running around like a chicken without a head and ready to chuck it all in. When getting in a phone booth to be transported across it took ages to load.
So many times I've had to restart a previous saved game because the game crashed on me.
But overall it is definitely worth carrying on with the ...

To many bugs

The good:

Nothing good about the game cause of the glitches killed the game.

The bad:

Wow you get to walk thru walls its just like using the noclip but unlike the noclip you get stuck in between them walls, and also had to restart the game over and over again cause i would get black screen and the game also its slow.

Summary:

The story line was alright and fun to play until you get along them bugs in the bloody game that a lot of people have countered, no wonder they were waiting for so long to release this game and still they could have done a better job in waiting like about another 5 years to get this glitches out of the game.

Now thats my 2 cents.

A great circa 2000 game finally hits the market

The good:

The game is different from every other adventure in that it's HUGE; you can wander around a very large virtual landscape looking for the clues you need to solve puzzles.

The bad:

The graphics are tomb-raider style, because the development took place so long ago. I was also hoping to hear Chris Barrie's voice for Simon again, but another (probably less expensive) voice talent was chosen.

Summary:

Overall, this is a game that any fan of the previous two STS games, or big adventure game buff, probably wants to own. It's not a heavily polished game in every respect, nor will it floor you with astounding visuals. But it's got a certain charm, which is occasionally broken by Simon's apparent ire towards the wizard Calypso (every letter from him is inevitably bad news), and Simon's occasional disregard for life or kindness.

But Simon was never particularly sweet, anyways. More of a Dursley than a Potter, I'd say.
