The Tales series is like the Final Fantasy series in one way, they are not sequels to each other. Perhaps maybe they are, they are all based in different times and different planets. But it really depends how you feel about. These games are a good example of a linear RPG, where you can play and not do things in a specific order, as long as you complete the game.
