Buffy the Vampire Slayer Series
Buffy the Vampire Slayer is a hit cult television series created by Joss Whedon that debuted in 1997 and ran seven seasons until its end in 2003. The series is based off the movie of the same name, where Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar), is the Slayer who is chosen to fight the forces of evil, which include vampires, demons, and much more. Through the series, Buffy is aided by her friends and her Watcher, Rupert Giles (Anthony Stewart Head).
The other main characters include Xander Harris (Nicholas Brendon), one of Buffy's closest friends. Willow Rosenberg (Alyson Hannigan), Buffy's best friend and later on a witch. Cordelia Chase (Charisma Carpenter), another ally of Buffy. Angel (David Boreanaz), a vampire who Buffy fell in love with. Oz (Seth Green), Willow's boyfriend who is also a werewolf. Spike (James Marsters), a vampire who at first is one of Buffy's enemies, who later on becomes an ally of the group who falls in love with Buffy. Riley Finn (Marc Blucas), one of Buffy's boyfriends in the middle of the series. Anya Jenkins (Emma Caulfield), an ex-demon who becomes Xander's girlfriend. Dawn Summers (Michelle Trachtenberg), Buffy's little sister. Tara Maclay (Amber Benson), a witch who later becomes lovers with Willow.
The series also spawned multiple other types of media, including novels, comics, and video games. Buffy the Vampire Slayer has been named by multiple critics as one of the best shows of our time, and landed at #41 on TV Guide's 50 Greatest TV Shows of All Time. The series also mixes multiple genres into it, including drama, romance, action-adventure, comedy, horror, and fantasy.
