Secret Weapons Over Normandy User Reviews
Cool graphics, good ennemies, cool planes (about 25).The bad:
No a flight sim.Summary:
Awsome graphs! The missons (about 30) are totally awsome, fun. You get tones of Airplanes by completing missons, and when you finish a mission, you unblock things like more Amo, more bombs, more maneuvrability, better armor, movies, all kind's of things. I have a bro, so when I play with him, we play in Dual player mode, either against or in the same team. I personnally like mission 4 when you have to torpedo ships. Did I mession ennemies? Their's all kinds: Fighters, bombers, Ships, 37 and 66mm ground guns, submarines, patrol boats, tanks, gun towers...
You can land to refuel or rearm your ...
Out of the two airplane games I've player (this and crimsonskies) I like this one alot more. It offers tons of different WWII planes used by americans, the british, germans, japanese, and even the russains! With a multitude of different secondary weapons that can be carried, and a HUGE variety of missions, and challenges, the campeign mode alone is incredible.
Then there's the instant action mode, where you can up to 6 allies fight in a plane of your choice, against up to 6 enemies in any plane of your choice, and each teams planes can have any 3 upgrades you want. The dogfighting in this mode is fun, but fighting against ground and seaborne enemies can also be fun. My favorite mission would have to be the Midway mission, or one of the other missions in the Pacific theatre.
I'm stuck on the 14th level, and there are 15. the last five levels are incredibly difficult, and unfair (allied airfields you can land at, but no allies in the air with you, what's up with that?) and I've read, that after completeing all 15 missions and all the challenges, you can fly TIE fighters, and X-wings in the Instant Action mode, which sounds incredibly cool.Summary:
in total this is the best flight sim/fighter game out there right now, altho many would say crimson skies is better, for a historically accurate fighting game that is super fun, this is the best choice.
Great explosions, weapons upgrades, good selection of aircraft, time manipulation. The bad:
No look-around, bizarre controller set-up, time manipulation, external bombing view.Summary:
On the back of the box it reads; "you don't have to be pilot to enjoy this game". A more accurate statement would have been "if you are a pilot, you won't enjoy this game". I am extremely disappointed in this game. The controller setup (which is not customizable), is absurd. I was using the "advanced" preset, which is the only one with rudder controls. In this mode the right analog stick is throttle (up, down) and rudder (left, right). Takes some getting use to, but fine , whatever, I'll adapt. Or so I thought. Then I made the realization that it would not let you operate both simultaneousl...
