Rygar: The Legendary Adventure User Reviews
Rygar is a game I really, really wanted to love as much as the likes of Contra, Mega Man 2 and Castlevania 3. It had it all – excellent gameplay, excellent controls, a relentless atmosphere (for the time) and nice looking graphics. Unfortunately, something, in the end, just decided to piss it all away. I was quite pissed in the end, though at times, I always wanted to save my progress because I didn’t know what to do at this instance (though unlike some games I know, I figured it out on my own in the end), but just couldn’t, because it doesn’t have that feature. That kills the game, but wit...
graphics, weapon mechanics, and control, the game is rele fun and can be entertaining at times, and kewl special movesThe bad:
very short, dull story and way 2 many save areas (makes the game 2 easy at times)boring cinemas and godzilla like voice actingSummary:
rygar has sleeper hit written all over it,the game is fun and the gameplay is pretty damn close 2 perfect, the only thing is the story isnt compelling enough 2 make u wanna play it and as soon as it starts getting good the game is over, but for what it is,its a damn good game,it just leaves the gamer pissed at the length because what's there is juss perfection, the graphics are top notch, the game has excellent control and its easy 2 get into, highly recommended as a weekend rental and if ya can find it for like 25 bucks, pick it up u wont be dissapointed
Rygar has the best graphics I've ever seen. That said, I'll move onto the actual review. Diskarmor mechanics are great-- I loved whipping around a spiked sheild at worm creatures. Enemies are great looking-- insect-creatures, worms, evil plants, and enviroments-- an awesome looking water shrine, huge outdoor enviroments, all sorts of cool places. Now, onto gameplay. A lot of people-- most of the other reviewers -- have given the game a bad score. The game really isn't that bad. In fact, it's one of my favorites. The game has a cool atmosphere which fits right in with the epic boss battles(w...
THE GRAPHICS ARE DROP DEAD GORGEOUS. THE ORIGINAL
RYGAR IDEA STILL INTACT
READ THE COMMENTS.Summary:
FIRST OFF GAMERS, DONT YOU HATE IT WHEN YOU COME ACROSS A GAME THAT HAS ALMOST EVERYTHING? THEN FALLS
SOOOO SHORT? LIKE DMC2? DUDE...ALL I GOTTA' SAY IS THAT THE GRAPHICS ARE TIGHT. THE GAME PLAY IS SMOOTH
ALTHOUGH THEY SHOULD HAVE HAD A TARGETING SYSTEM. BUT THE WORST PART IS THAT YOU END UP SMASHING MOST OF THE ENVIRONMENT THAN YOU DO FIGHTING ENEMIES. YOU CAN RUN FOR DAYS WITHOUT COMING ACROSS ANY FIGHTING. THEN ITS ALWAYS AT THE SAME PLACE.THEY REGENERATE....WE ALL KNOW THIS IS SO WEAK. THE IDEA OF THE GAME WAS SO COOL...DIFFERENT DISC ARMOURS,YOU CAN POWER THEM UP WITH CERTAIN STONES ...
Rygar: The Legendary Journey takes place during the mythological times in a mystical and surreal land called Argos. You assume the role of Rygar, a battle hardened warrior who is totally committed to rescuing his beloved princess Harmonia from the evil titans who have taken over the land. Basically you need to traverse over great distances and overcome numerous obstacles, battles and puzzles in order to achieve your goal.
The controls are set up in a very user friendly fashion and are very easy to grow accustomed to. Your main weapon is the Diskarmor which is a very...
the graphicsThe bad:
the story, the confusing power ups, the length of time to finish were all ridiculously bad.
the game play while fun left something much needed. Camera angles equal agrivation, and the dialogue.... I mean c'mon "I swear my vengence on this feather!?!!!????"
I spend fifty bucks and you swear vengence to a feather?
I couldn't decide if I wanted to return this and get my money back or take it out and use it for a frisbee or air hockey, or real hockey or skeet shooting.
Tecmo should stick with the graphics because everything else in any of their games churns my stomach.
