Rugby League

Summary:

This is the first rugby league game on playstation 2. The producers have done a lot to make this game as good as it is. On the game, you can play various competitions, such as NRL and SL comps, test series, state of origin and much more. There are even things to unlock as you play more.I love the game because I get the chance to play as my favourite team and the graphics are pretty good. You can also play on a variety of levels, depending on how good you are. You can play on schoolboy or reserve level, which are the easiest. When you get better, you can play on seasoned or legend level, whi...

Rugby League, the greatest game of all

The good:

great original gameplay, with bullet time kicks, all the teams in the world, heaps to unlock including cheerleaders video, the best rugby league game to date!

The bad:

Frustrating last tackle options, forwards on the wings, no set plays, too harsh when head high tackles occur, arsey last minute heroics by the computer, NO MULTIPLAYER OPTION ON THE PC!

Summary:

Rugby League has not had a full blooded game since ARL 96, which sold highly worldwide. Rugby League is now the benchmark for all rugby games as it entales the true essence of rugby league. From the beginning when I started to play this game on my PC my heart started to race. When I play Rugby League i wear my heart on my sleave and i often get so worked up in it I start complaining to the ref about a dodge job he's doing. Saying this it has to be the best game on my PC to date. The controls of Rugby League at first are daughting and stressfull as you attempt to move what seems bulky pl...

Variety of play options, graphics, bullet time kicking, hard tackle options, the commentary

The bad:

PS2 struggles to keep up on the graphics at times, limited replay options and performance

Summary:

A great effort from Sidhe, who have come up with a league game that excels in the right parts of the game, without the unnecessary fuzz that looks good at first but quickly becomes annoying.

Game play is spot on, which is impressive because automating up to 26 players and a ref is undoubtedly difficult, but Sidhe have come up with a well crafted AI.

An impressive feature is the commentary: it generally fits the game play, doesn't seem overly reptitive, is at times hilarious. The lack of a second "expert" commentator actually adds value. The commentary doesn't suffer from inconsistent tonal i...
