Rise of Nations User Reviews
The graphics were good.
You get to play through the Ages and counquer the World, taking over countries and territories of many different Nations. Fun Campaign in other words.
The Nations hardly differ in weapons. AT ALL. Each nation has three unique units. ONLY THREE. Otherwise, the only thing different is how the buildings look in the earlier ages. The units are also moderately different, and the cities are named according to their original ruler. Otherwise, the nations are no different.Summary:
Let's face it: Rise of Nations isn't all that great. It was a quick pick up game for me, and it was very good. But it was only very good for about a month. And every time I played it, I grew more and more bored of the repetitveness of weapons, the weapons being the same for every nation, and the lack of originality put into the game. It sucked in a few months.
The replay value on a scale of 1 to 10 is a 1. Replaying any form of the game, any mode at all, will get you bored very, very quickly. Even making your own maps and scripts and whatnot, it still gets extremely dull after a while.
perfect in every way.always dreamed of being a war god without dealing with all the complex things i.e. propaganda? well this game is for you.....and EVERY OTHER LIVING PERSON IN THE WORLD !!!this game is truely the Halo and Halo2 of the RTS genre.Meant for every one even hardcore FPS fans.I am a normally strategical Hardcore FPS gamer i normally plan every firefight in Halo(thats how I beat it in Legendary!)I thought i wouldnt like this game but after two days in the trial version i was hooked! All in all this is an everyones game game.End!The bad:
if you read the good why are you reading this? Please.Think positive thoughts!Summary:
Actually i've reconsidered!there is one thing bad about the game!*gasp* three words will describe it:
This real time strategy involves a huge amount of strategy you wouldn't normally find in my other RTS titles. The bad:
You might get dangerously addicted to Rise of Nations after playing it.Summary:
This game utilizes strategic tools, other games haven't. Attrition and national borders cause you to develop strategies which you would never use in other games. This game is both suitable for people who enjoy action filled real-time strategies, while still appealing to some hardcore pure strategy gamers out there. There is also an excellent balance of difficulty levels starting from which a first time gamer can win all the way up to a level of difficulty that even after years of playing, would be very difficult to beat. Rise of Nations also has a high replayability value, so you are sure t...
Better than AOE, AOE2, OR AOM, this game is the best strategy game where you lead a race (or in this case, a nation) to domination. The conquer the world campeign is really where it's at, you choose from one of 18 nations, all with their own neat units, and special powers (equally diverse to any of the games mentioned above) and begin working your way toward global domination on a Risk-esque map (like the board game Risk, which I might add, I'm great at) And each time you attack another nation, no matter who owns it, you're in for a treat! Durign the actual fighting it's alot like any of the games above, but, in this case, each time you play, you will eventually be able to progress to a new age, (medival, gunpowder, modern, ect...) and over time, as you take over more of the world, and other nations try to do the same, tiem will progress, and you'll move on, so that you begin battles in a new age, and during the battle, you can move on to the age after that. A new feature is that during your time on the main board (the Risk part of the game) you can gain tribute, and eventually use this to purchase cards, which will either help you weaken, or conquer opponents without a fight, OR they can help you during the crucial battles, when you need all the help you can get. Different regions that you can and will conquer, all offer tribute, or resources, or new armies to fight, and defend with, as well as cards. Also don't forget the music and sound effects and graphics to this game, all of which are incredible. The bad:
There's nothing I can see really wrong with this game.Summary:
