Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles is an on-rails arcade shooter set in the world of Capcom's long-running survival horror franchise. The Darkside Chronicles takes place before and during the events of both Resident Evil 2 and Code: Veronica, with Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield returning as the main characters.
The game is designed for play with the Wii-mote, used as a "light gun" to aim the on-screen crosshair and set up shooting attacks from the players. The Darkside Chronicles even comes with a "Zapper" peripheral for use with the Wii-mote to better simulate the grip of a firearm. Another player can join in for co-operative multiplayer, with both players capable of aiming and firing independantly with their own weapons which include handguns, shotguns and machineguns that can be customized as desired for enhanced performance.
This game is also known as BioHazard: The Darkside Chronicles in Japan.
