Have you ever played the Resident Evil on-rails shooters? Probably not, and likely with good reason! That didn't stop them from making an HD collection of these on-rail shooters put together into one package. Introducing Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection, a bundle of 2007's Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles and 2009's Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles. It can be played with both a standard controller as well as the PlayStation Move.
In order to make these national treasures more viable on modern platforms, full HD visuals were added to each title -- despite their generously low polygon count in the first place. Surround sound was also added to each title, because on-rails titles are extraordinarily immersive so why not make them even better?
 Game Play
As on-rails shooters are wont to do, Resident Evil: Chronicles HD puts players on a rail, jumping them from scene to scene and asking them to shoot enemies who either slowly move towards the screen or jump out in ways specifically designed to drive players to spend quarters. Luckily, there are no quarters, so players will just have to do their best to spam the trigger on enemies as soon as they appear. It's like death in Dark Souls, it happpens all the time but is nowhere near as compelling.
Features stories unique to each shooter which star such well-known franchise characters as Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine. Oh, and that devious Wesker shows up too. Dang it all, Wesker! This is all your fault!
