Pokémon X and Y are the Generation VI releases of Nintendo and Game Freak's long-running franchise. Players will explore Kalos region of the world filled with new Pokémon to battle, catch and raise. Singleplayer content remains rooted in challenging the Gym Leaders of the land to Pokémon battles and earning their badges in order to earn the right to take on the Elite Four and ultimately become Champion.
Multiplayer battles will test how your ability to maximize the growth potential of your Pokémon, and with Pokémon X and Y players can also battle over the internet using the Player Search System.
With the release of Pokémon X and Y, the total number of Pokémon created for the series has risen to over 640 including the new Fairy type intended to be strong against Dragon, Fighting and Dark types. Pokémon X and Y were the first releases in the series to use 3D models for all characters and Pokémon, even in battle. The new Pokémon-Amie minigame lets players play with their Pokémon and give them gifts using the 3DS touchscreen panel.
This game is also known as Pocket Monsters X in Japan.
