Pokémon Ruby User Reviews
Many new Pokemon adds a little more fun to the game when you find a new one and attempt to capture it.
The story line is alright but doesn't match up to the story lines of other games such as Harvest Moon.
The graphics are good compared to versions such as Blue,Red and Yellow.
The many new features such as running shoes and the Premier Ball (Even more balls have been added) have a positive effect on the gaming experience.
Creativity in the gyms and landscape and top notch graphics encaptures and satisfies Pokemon addicts and the casual Pokemon fan.
The new features on the bicycle (Now you have the choice of two!) adds something.
The ability to trade between Fire Red and Leaf green adds another layer of depth to interaction with fellow players. The addition of the Pokenav (As seen on the television series) gives you access to you're map and how many ribbons won in Pokemon contests and other achievements such as an addition to the Pokemon Hall of Fame by beating the Pokemon League.
Worth every penny you pay and provides gameplay that will amuse you for a very long time.
The monotonous music in every version in the Pokemon experience keeps the sound down on the GameBoy systems of many gamers across the globe.
Sometimes frustrating missions, battles and Pokemon that are hard to capture keep you from advancing in the game such as: The Elite 4, trying to catch Feebas, The Trick Master's house and capturing legendary Pokemon mentioned below in the Detailed Comments section of this review.
Only getting one Master Ball without using Action Replay or Gameshark codes which ultimately can damage you're game cartridge and system.
Gamers who have not played a game in the Pokemon series would be clueless on how to play.
And no day and night feature, or a telephone in the past games.
I really like this game and wasn't really surprised by the way the game started out but after that I noticed the many new tidbits added to the game to enhance the experience such as running shoes, new levels of fishing poles, a secret base and many accessories to add to it and to decorate it to you're liking such as, posters, dolls, mats, water balloons in every colour of the rainbow, and other miscellaneous items.
I liked the way some things changed. Some thing aren't meant to be messed with such as the method for catching Pokemon and gym battles and the map feature, the requirement to batt...
Introduction of Berries
New 2 v 2 Battles
Fairly Good Story Line
A New Evil Team
Few Pokemon From Older Versions to Catch
Internal Game Problems
Some Confusing Parts of the Game
Pokemon Ruby is a great overall game, but is probably worse then the previous generation, besides its graphics. Like the previous games Ruby has its own region, which is Hoenn, and there are 8 Gyms, The Evil Team(Magma), the Elite Four, The Champion and your rival to beat.
Some new improvements from the old games include contests, which are not easy and take some practice. These contests make the game last a bit longer, and there are rewards for beating them. Berries are used to make Pokemon compete better in these contests and blending berries with your friends to make poke-blocks and then ...
•Choice of Gender
•Built in game clock
•Many hours of game play
•2 on 2 battles
•Very challenging at some points
•Not many Pokemon from older versions
•Internal game problems
Pokemon Ruby is a great game overall. The game takes place in the Hoenn region where there are many new things to do. In the Hoenn region, there are 8 Gym leaders to fight and defeat, just like the previous games.
In addition to collecting all 8 Gym badges, Nintendo has included Beauty Contests. There are many new additions to Pokemon Ruby that trainers have not seen in any Pokemon game before. New kinds of berries growing on trees, the berry blender and even 2 on 2 Pokemon battles.
This game revolutionizes Pokemon games like no other Pokemon game has before.
However, there are glitches. The i...
-Lots of new Pokemon
-Much better graphics than the older versions
-2 on 2 battles
-lots of random events and an ok plot line
-more legendary pokemon then the last games
-Like most of the other pokemon games, after you beat the elite four, there's not much to do
-They took out a lot of the pokemon from the older versions
-The game can get a little too frusturating at times with their puzzles
This game can only be described in one word in my opinion: interesting. This game has lots of stuff to do and it will most certainly take hours over hours to see all of the stuff this game has in store for you. There's lots of places to travel to, and their atmosphere of the game is pretty cool. The places you go are fun to explore in, from a volcano to the desert, and even under the sea. There's also a lot of new things to do such as beauty contests, which seem like another game in itself. There's also some other cool feautures outside of the main game such as your own secret base where yo...
- More pokemon
- Longer story than the others
- 2 on 2 battles
- Cool moves
- Nice Graphics compared to the previous pkmn games
- You can continue after the game itself is over
- You cant easily breeze through it
- You can capture Groudon
The game is still too traditional and it lacks being unique in its own way. Limit to catchable pokemon as usual.Summary:
Overall, Ruby is a solid game. Just like the other past pokemon games, the entire goal of the game is to defeat the Elite 4 and become a ultimate pokemon master. Can it get any more traditional than that? No, it cant. Thats one bad thing that happens with this game because its mostly the same thing, which definitely brings down the overall quality of the game.
But look past that and you'll see a beautiful game with lots of things to do, and a lot of fun attached to it. The goal of the game, as stated before, is to become a pokemon master, and now its also to defeat the rivals, who are known...
2 on 2 battles.
More Poke'mon thingies.
After beating the Elite 4, there's barely anything to do.
It's quite repetitive.
Not all the Poke'mons are there.
Uhhh, the move they use does the same damage all the time.
God, you should see how hard the Elite 4 are. Also catching the Legendaries can be hard dagnammit.
Hmmm, that's kinda the only other thing I liked about the game, but it's stillll boring.
If I ever hear one more Poke'mon entry sound, I'm gonna bust my SP apart. Seriously, they try to pop your ears out.
Well, it's simple. You walk around, catch Poke'mons and battle trainers and Gym Leaders, which I consider dull and repetitive.
Doing the same thing for like the 7th/8th installment is just plain rude.
