A Little Too Black and White?

The good:

-The graphics were more advanced than the graphics of generation 4 (camera angles).
-The battles were more dynamic and interesting than those of gen 4.
-The new features were a cool addition to the series.

The bad:

-The storyline was pretty strange.
-The Unova region was small and bland.
-Many of the new features were overrated and underused e.g. triple battles.

Summary:

Now, I am a genuine Pokémon fan. The first Pokémon game I ever played was Pearl, and I have expanded my collection to Heartgold, Black, Red, Yellow and Gold. I don't prefer any Pokémon game in particular, I can see the good and bad points in all of them. However, what I must say is that I feel generation 5 was a bad addition to the series. Up until gen 5, I felt that the quality of Pokémon games was going up a steady slope, yet as soon as Black and White came out, it fell off a steep cliff. Now, I'm not saying gen 1 was perfect (because it wasn't), but I think that Black and White lost the ...

Pokemon Gets Worse and Worse

The good:

Just the graphics.

The bad:

Everything else.

Summary:

Pokemon is now on to its 5th region, but I'm telling you, buying the game is a waste of money. I am a huge pokemon fan but you should stick with the older games.

The plot is just getting really boring. Defeat eight gym leaders and save the world from evil guys, blah, blah, blah. The new pokemon aren't even getting good either. They are running out of ideas. They are naming pokemon out of deer. Sheesh. Generally, the only good pokemon is Hydreigon.

Other than that, the game is dull. The pokemon world, sadly, is falling apart. Seriously, this game isn't even worth it. Getting rid of the undergr...

The Next Installment in the Pokemon Franchise

The good:

The graphics are improved from the fourth generation. The introduction to seasons makes the game much more interesting.

The bad:

You can transfer your old Pokemon from Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum over to black, but you need a second DS to do so. Most of the better graphics are only noticeable in select places like the gyms, around the elite four, on certain bridges, and in Castelia City. Black city is utterly useless if you rush through the game and/or don't have a friend nearby with Pokemon White to go on the Extralink with and fill up your town. The game includes very few National Pokedex Pokemon (and you can't catch them until after beating the game).

Summary:

Pokemon Black is the one of two new games that have been released as the fifth generation of Pokemon. When you finish the professor introduction and leave your house the first thing you're likely to notice is the graphics. While they're not totally different from Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum, they are better. As I stated above, the graphics truly only shine during certain places, and once you get the Hidden Machine Fly or beat a gym, you'll be seeing a lot less of the graphics. Aside from the core graphics, you'll also notice season changes, which is a new feature. In Pokemon Black not only ...

As Clear as Black and White

Summary:

Pokemon Black, alongside Pokemon White, sees the fifth generation of main titles into fruition and into a new decade. Unlike with the fourth generation, where I scoured the dark recesses of the internet for every scrap of information I could find, I took a comparatively relaxed view on Pokemon Black and purchased it with very little knowledge of what to expect. Despite my original anticipation that it would be released on the 3DS, I eagerly plugged the cartridge in wondering not just how far they’d pushed the Nintendo DS, but also the Pokemon franchise itself.

One thing that will never chan...
