Long and addictive
Nice mini games

Dr. Zomboss is not to hard, or too easy.

Mac version is faster

Silly Popcap, plants can't protect themselves. Except, of course, the Mexican fighting trees...

Summary:

I would've loved to have been in on the pitch meeting for this game - “yeah, zombies are cool, but we need something that'd make our game stand out from the thousands of generic zombie games out there... oh yeah, let's have plants that fire at zombies - genius!” I mean, this has to be one of the more out there premises for a game. We're not exactly dealing with Attack Of The Mutant Penguins or the last third of Indigo Prophecy here, but it's not exactly a concept that has any basis in reality, almost like... a video game. Yeah, remember when video games weren't about trying to be realistic?...

The Zombies Are Coming

Summary:

I would love to know the thought process that went into devising and approving this idea. Let's take a tower defence game and make it accessible to newbies. But wait, we need it to have mass market appeal. No problem, for universal appeal just add zombies. Cool but everyone's doing zombies, so we need another element that elevates the game above the crowd. Yes, it's decided. The defending forces will not be armies of the world, gunslingers or survivors of a tragic event. They'll be plants. Epic plants with attitude. Who knew that gardening would be so vital to our survival when the zombie a...

A tower defence game at its finest

The good:

-Unlike some games in the genre, you can actually use your head and strategise.
-No leaning curve, although at no point will you find yourself bored with the difficulty.
-An astounding amount of replayability for the genre.
-Charming visuals and humour to boot.
-Some of the mini-games are blatant references to other popular games, not all of them belonging to Pop Cap. Notably, most of these mini-games are the better ones.
-Everyone tends to form their own playing style and a personalised plant deck.

The bad:

-Sometimes the game can be a bit repetitive, so the one thing you don't want to do is lose your data.
-Some of the plants are a bit redundant.
-Crazy Dave ain't nearly CRAAAAZY enough.

Summary:

The story begins with-- Actually, no. The story doesn't begin at all, in fact, it doesn't even exist. In a way similar to the innovative Wii Ware game 'World of Goo' the game's 'plot' simply exists to poke fun at itself, as it sacrifices any story coherency for gameplay... This is a GOOD thing.

Anyhow! The story, or rather, the gameplay, begins with a brief tutorial section that lasts for about four levels. In the tutorial section, you learn the most important rule of Planting: Sunlight. Unlike many tower defence games, you don't obtain more money for weapons by defeating your opponents, or ...

Plants Vs. Zombies

The good:

This is a fast, action packed game that will keep you going. Like a "page-turner" book, this game will keep you playing for hours.

The bad:

The only problem is some zombies are just plain tough! Like the Football Zombie and the Buckethead Zombie. They have high endurance and can sustain most attacks.

Summary:

Let me just say that this game will keep you going. George Fan has done it again! Like Insaniquarium, this game can be played continuously with new stuff happening all the time! He really does give you the most for your money. In this game, he added many mini games, puzzle games, and a survival mode to keep you playing until the end. After defeating the final boss, you will get to see the purpose of the Music Video in the description. I won't spoil it though!

Anyway, there are many ways to strategize in this game. For starters, you can decide whether or not to have a lot of Sunflowers. Sunfl...
