excellecent storyline, each colony has their own story that is 84 pages for one side and 96 pages for the other. extremely realistic, massive comunity on the web (focused mainly in "http://op.virtualave.net/cgi-bin/boardpower/boardpower.cgi") lots of fan made updates including new maps (with a plymouth colony game with a eden colony on the map) (including updates i've made myself)The bad:
hard to get used to the micromanagement after playing so many other Real Time Stats e.g. C&C games
Sierra doesn't support it any more
firewalls that block UDP packets don't let you play on the internet or via TCP/IP

this is probably the best game in it's category that is sadly misjudged by the reviewers who reviewed it.
yes the game is old, however when does a classic become a bad game?
there is so much to do in the game besides go shoot up your oppenent, though it is part of the game. you have to research for before you can do this anyway, and the research topics aren't that confusing, i mean "Artificial Lightning" - wonder what that means?!?!

its a good game but with only 4 colony missions (and only 1 where both sides bases are on the same map) it tends to get boring after a month
if there were MORE custom made colony missions I'd LOVE to play it some more (mainly I want MORE maps with both sides on the SAME map)

I love to use plymouth BUT no plymouth colony games have both sides on the same map so I tend to play as eden more cause both are on same map (eden starship)
