Need For Speed Underground User Reviews
Unique gameplay format. Lots of customization options. Good variety of races & racetracks. The bad:
Slightly subpar graphics, plus occasional flickering. Sounds & music are hit-and-miss. Touchy controls. No Xbox Live support.Summary:
A new variation on the popular Need For Speed series, this title shifts the game's focus to the popular world of underground street racing. You're a newbie on the block who's trying to make a name for yourself by winning races to improve your car and customize it to look as good as it runs. Eventually you'll take a stock street car and turn it into a 5-star pimpin' ride as you bilod up your reputation and move up the rankings.
While the realistic graphics are very good, some issues are noticeable right away. The cars & backgrounds have very good detail but sometimes, like when you drive thro...
Graphics, good amount of customisation, fair amount af races to do in underground mode. The bad:
All the tracks are in one city and eventually most of the tracks are very similar and go through the same obsticals. also the Non-Race cars look bad. TRAFFIC IS EVIL IN SOME LEVELS.Summary:
This game is the best racing GAMES that i've played. While not as realistic as a GT it is very very fun and customising is just as enjoyable
GRAPHICS: 10/10 The game looks great, speed blur occurs perfectly, it's a beauty. Non-race vehicles didn't get much Detail and vehicles don't get damaged but when your car looks good you don't want it getting all scratched up.
SOUND/MUSIC: 10/10 The sounds are really good, Turbos sound real and all cars sound different. The Nitros has good sound too. The music is the best of any game I have ever played and If I ever saw those songs as a CD I would buy it...
For NFS the graphics are pretty good because of all the cool effects in the city. The cars look good when they race. The sound is good. The music is good(50 cent and people like that). The gameplay is that you can custimize youre own cars to race better and it has a story mode. For GT3 the graphics are good especilly on the cars. The enviroments are OK. The sound of the cars are also pretty good. And the gameplay is fun because there are so many cars to collect!!The bad:
Not too much exept for some gamers may find that these games have limited appeal. It may seem like a good idea at first but it get kinda boring.Summary:
Hey people! Welcome to my weekly versus. It's Need For Speed Underground vs Gran Turismo 3. I found that both of these games are very fun in what they do. For NFS it's more street racing then anything. For GT3 it's for the people who like's every little detail on the cars in other words: a gearhead. Overall I give a draw if you have an X-Box go for Need foe Speed. If you have a Playstation2 go for Gran Turismo. For me personnaly I liked Need For Speed. That's all for now see ya!
Emence speed, extreme tention, cool cars, and all the rest that makes it a classic ps2 game that I will never stop playing and put it on a shelf and forget about. The bad:
Mabey a few more options on painting your car. It would be nice to be able to make your own colors. And mabey more accesories like roof scoops and headlights or more colors of neon. Oh yes And some more songs by the Lostprophets!Summary:
One of the best games I've ever played. Borrowed it off a friend to try it out and I couldnt give it back! Recordred all the songs from 'EA trax' onto my minidisc player. Hope that isnt illegal! Ive got to say when I first played te game the stock cars that you have to start with are pretty crap and i did feel a bit dissapointed, but once I had unlocked some performance upgrades thats when the fun began!
The cars are very detailed.
The sounds of the cars are awesome!
The different games in it are lots of fun.
Drag, drifting, circuit, sprint
The tracks are detailed and enjoyable.
You can change the look of how you race. (first person, view of the car, and closer view of it)
I wish they would have added:
#1 personalized plates....since this is a game of customizing your car.
#2 Having police show up at the end after you race (not necessarily all the time) would have been cool. After all.... if it's illegal racing, you'd think the pigs would show up sometime and try and spoil the fun.
#3 A few more cars.
#4 A few more songs.
Only thing that I do get annoyed with is at the end of dragging, the crowd that cheers. It's fine a few times, but if you play this alot or have the volume high, that's a bit annoying.
That 1 thing of course does not make me not like the game. Just personal preferences. Just things to add to the fun.
I played this game on XBox at a friends house, and the next day I bought it for my PS2. I bought it mostly for the drag racing, but the loved the other racing parts of it.
I enjoyed the customizing.
The graphics of the game are very damn good. I played Gran Turismo and Midnight Club 2 and the cars looked better and handled alot better in Underground.
As the game goes on & you score points, you're able to unlock "special cars." IE- Rob Zombie car. Too bad you can't add to the cars, but they are way fun when you are just racing and doing the games, before going "Underground." Underground is wh...
Well, i'm not a big fan of racing games, but this one
is one of those few that i'm happy to make an exception.
-Let's start with the visuals. The graphics of this
game are great, nothing groundbreaking, but it's the
next best thing. The city in this game is not based on
a real one, but suprisingly, it would appear that there
is not one day that goes by that it does not rain in this fictional city, why do i think this? simple, the
roads are nice and shiny in everyone of the 111 levels,
and your car is suprisingly shiny aswell. This effect
does make the game look more beautiful, but after awhile, it do...
