Good effort, but looks rushed

The good:

Features all teams & players from Arcade version (Blitz 99). Extra modes like Season and Create A Play. Compatible with Arcade version.

The bad:

Poor graphics & choppy frame rate. Saving & Loading data using Controller Pak is too complicated.

Summary:

Although the game's title is "2000", it's more a port of 99 with some of 2000's features. For those unfamiliar with the franchise, Blitz is no-rules smash mouth football where Pass Interference & late hits are OK and encouraged. This game boasts considerable improvements over it's predecessor including 4-player compatibility, "On Fire", Season Mode, and improved stat tracking.
Controls are customizable & responsive-you only have to use 3 different buttons. Sound is arcade-perfect, but graphics have some major issues. Players appear to be a little pixelated and have rough edges, and the frame...

As expected...

Summary:

Playstation – NFL Blitz

I must admit that when NFL Blitz came onto the scene I was one of the many people that became addicted to the new style of in-your-face all out football with very little rules and more testosterone than anyone really knows what to do with. I was one who stayed with the game through multiple consoles and very little to no change in each individual version of the game. There was no denying NFL Blitz's addictive power over gamers, it had what sports games lacked... attitude. As old rock stars fade, sadly, so did NFL Blitz. The attitude got old; the gameplay got too easy;...

It's kind of fun

The good:

Good for multiplayer

The bad:

Controls don't seem as accurate as the N64 version.
The AI can be extremely cheap.
Single player games aren't as fun as multiplayer.
Having to get a multi tap to have 4 players.

Summary:

I played this game with my friends a lot on the N64. There are some very distinct differences between the two versions. For some reason, the control just doens't seem as great as the N64 versions. Maybe I'm not used to it or maybe its just not as accurate. I also hated the fact that I would have to pay more money just to have four players play at the same time. Still, other than that, this is the same thing as the N64 version. Its still as fun to play, and the action is just as crazy. Single player is still kind of boring since you don't get reactions from the computer like you do fr...

Great multiplayer fun

The good:

Multiplayer
Arcade like gameplay

The bad:

Cheap AI

Summary:

I first played this game with a group of friends. We had a lot of fun playing this game. We really don't care much for sports games, this was an exception. The arcade like gameplay really lends itself to quick multiplayer games. This is not a simulation type football game, so there is little realism to it. If it were a sim game, the game would not have been as fun. Late hits are fun to do. Making all your friends hate you because you always make them fumble is also fun until they beat you up. The single player game is kind of fun, but it isn't all that great. The AI is really cheap...

NFL Blitz 2000

Summary:

When NFL Blitz first came out it became an instant classic. Many, including me believe that it is with out a doubt the best football game of all time, for any system. It was made by Midway, the creators of the NBA Jam series, and they applied the same type of play in this game. A hard-core, all out game where there are no rules and you are actually encouraged to cheat, and slam the wide receiver before the ball is even thrown. If you figure out the right strategy, you will become next to invincible with the right cheats. If you are a fan of the NBA Jam Series, which I am, you will most like...
