Nehalem & X58 in September/October?
William Henning - Thursday, July 24th, 2008 | 9:38AM (PT)

Nehalem to launch early?

Digitimes reports that Intel will apparently launch its upcoming Nehalem processor and x58 chipset in September, with products available in the channel in early October.

If this is true... let the benchmarking begin!

the sad fact is, id buy nehalem if there were PC games worth playing. now a days developers are barely making any decent titles for PC and I'm not a modeler or animator so Nehalem would be a waste of money and power.

It seems like the PC gets good games, just delayed. Gears of War and Bioshock for example. Although if you said PC exclusives I would agree with you.

In the end, you get a system for its exclusives, so the PC isn't that appealing to a lot of people.

The PC is plenty appealing if you want to play higher resolutions, or if you want more anti-aliasing and rendering quality (assuming you have the horsepower for it). Not to mention many titles just work better with a keyboard and mouse (RTS and FPS in general for example).

I also prefer my RPG's on PC when possible, depending on the RPG.

So basically what you are saying is that all the PC has is graphics and a better control scheme. But like I said, a system is bought for exclusives, not what you could get on another system. Really you would only want a PC for better graphics of games that come out on PS3/360. But as far as exclusives go, you have to take away any of the console exclusives. So in order to PC game, you have to sacrifice exclusive titles for the consoles AND pay twice as much (if you want console quality graphics and smoothness). Not to mention upgrades for your PC, the whole DRM mess that has hit neoseeker headlines, and the possibility of it not working for whatever reason. As far as I am concerned, I am willing to give up a little bit of graphics for more games, a guarantee that my games will work at consistent graphics and framerate, and a lower price tag.

Why are computer parts more expensive and do not run as smoothly as a console??? Are computer parts overpriced or something?
