You can thank the million-selling Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the boost in hardware sales.
The 3-to-1 lead the Wii garnered over the PlayStation 3 last month in Japan has but grown thus far into February. According to Japanese industry market research firm Enterbrain, Nintendo's February Wii sales were (somewhat) close to quintupling those for the PS3 in the four weeks leading to February 24th. The wind in the Wii's sails are top selling titles like Super Smash Bros. Brawl, already setting Japanese charts ablaze with sales of 1.33 million units since its launch last month, and Wii Fit.
Momentum is on Nintendo's side for the time being, and any garnered by Sony during November of last year (thanks to titles like Dynasty Warriors 6) seems to have subsided. Will Smash Bros. Brawl keep the Wii gravy train running over a longer course of time?
