Nvidia to buy Ageia???
William Henning - Tuesday, February 5th, 2008 | 11:26AM (PT)

PhyxX to go please...

If you are a fan of Physx, you may like this - if Nvidia buys Ageia, PhysX is here to stay - regardless of consumers wanting it or not.

Presumably Nvidia intends to integrate a physics processing block into its GeForce line of graphics accelerators, possibly based on Ageia's work.Ofcourse, the attempted purchase could be a defensive move - to preclude Intel or anyone else from acquiring Ageia.

Personally, I think we are very far from being physics limited in games, so the benefits, if any, of such an acquisition would be years down the line.

As long as AEGIS technology is built into Nvidia cards and not a seperate PCI-E slot gimmick, I'll be all for it.
