Control a dead frog's muscles over the Internet
Kevin Spiess - Tuesday, July 24th, 2007 | 3:46PM (PT)

Why? Well...why not?

Have you ever wanted to control a frog's limbs over the Internet? No? Well, now you can.

In an effort to explore the wonderful world of galvanic muscle response and frog mutilation, this "art formely known as new media" project was on display in Rotterdam. This unfortunate post-modern frog has had, in place of useful organs, a web-server installed into his body cavitity.

Vistors from the good ole' Internet were able to send him electronic pulses, for 'kicks'. The frog's limbs would then spasm. The creators of this art-project franken-frog tied its origins to the bioelectric experiments of the scientist known as Galvani.

I'm not sure if it was the frog's idea or not, but, he is no longer connected directly to the Internet.

For further information, follow this link...and watch out frogs! Scientists and artists are after you now.

I want to punch somebody in the face for this, but I can't figure out who. ?___?

So in lack of appropriate targets, i'll resort to the usual "WHAT HAS SCIENCE DONE!?"

Animal cruelty? Well, it's not alive. But who would want to play with a dead animal carcass?

Only the most deranged of artists.

Dead frog or not, it's disgusting.

Crap, gotta find an art related motto

" “Freedom!

Progressing
is in the world of art
as in the mighty creation
the purpose.

There is no rule in art
that could not be superseded by
a higher one.

Continue to
further reveal
the higher and true field of art
and to transfer yourself
further and further up into art's heaven!

There is no more undisturbed
more unmixed, purer joy
than that which arises from there.

That which we acquire from art
is from God, divine inspiration,
which sets human abilities
a target that he achieves.

Continue,
do not practice art alone,
but penetrate its interior, too,
which it deserves, as only art
and science elevate man
to divinity!.”

Beethoven"

Would not it be better to pick something that doesn't rot and stink up the room.

I would rather much practice the ancient art of "Poking dead animals with a stick"

iamjoe56, seriously, i'm not being serious.

Though I do detest this as far as 'art' is related. If it were strictly for science, then i'd be fine with it. Cuz one day we'll have robo frogs, and they'll save the world a few dozen times.
