Nokia's second kick at the portable gaming market hopes to be more N-Gaging to the consumer than its previous incarnation
The revamped N-Gage QD has started shipping and CNN is reporting that it can be found for as low as 50 Euros with subsidies. Nokia claims that the N-Gage QD may end up being free in certain markets. The full price remains at 199 Euros.
After a major launch of N-Gage last year Nokia has admitted sales missed expectations due to, among other things, the phone's small screen and an awkward way of changing games that requires the user to first remove the phone's battery.
Not too sure what they have changed but I still cannot picture myself talking into one of these things. The primary function of my cell phone is surprisingly, to talk. I value a high battery life and immaculate voice quality. Building a device that is firstly a gaming device and secondly a phone seems counterintuitive to me.
