Demo, too!
According to a press release sent out by Valve, Square Enix's game The Last Remnant will be making its way (worldwide) to Steam, their digital distribution service. This effectively makes the game Steam's first Japanese role-playing game, which should come as great news to most. Additionally, they say Square Enix will "continue to add to its roster of games on Steam".
"Square Enix is a fantastic addition to the Steam lineup," beamed Valve exec Jason Holtman. "We are thrilled that Square Enix chose to bring its diverse portfolio of titles to Steam and know that our customers will be ecstatic to hear this news."
Prices will be announced soon. In the meantime, a demo will be made available this Friday, February 27, with the full game will coming about a month later, set for April 9, in keeping well enough with its previous Q1 release window.
New to the PC version is a high speed mode for battles, the removal of the leader limit on unions, dual language support for voice and text, and the ability to use The Seven in your unions.
To check if your PC can run the game (or how well), try the benchmark program here, which is also where the demo will surface (and on Steam at some point, too, we presume).
