Very cool looking proposed shuttle craft
For once, a proposed space craft looks like a something out of a futuristic sci-fi show.
The Skylon is a proposed hybrid air-breathing / rocket plane that would take off from airport runways, use air breathing engines to get high into the atmosphere, then use LOX / hydrogen rocket engines to get to orbit.
When?
In 10 years or so.
The Skylon would carry 12 tons into orbit, and come back to earth, without discarding SRB's or external fuel tanks.
Oh yeah - did I mention it looks extremely cool?

Using the Moon as a jumping point would save a lot of fuel, so they'd need to build a station there, either that, or use the Space Station....
