EA CEO John Riccitiello has revealed that Mass Effect 2 will be release for "multiple platforms" in early 2010.

The first Mass Effect is already a multiplatform title, available for both the Xbox 360 and PC.  Already there are rumors of a PlayStation 3 version of the sequel, but BioWare co-founders and CEOs Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk aren't making promises.  They've skillfully avoided making any direct comments on the matter, so the PlayStation 3 question is still up in the air.

Gamers can remain hopeful, however, with Microsoft no longer publishing the Mass Effect franchise.
