Holiday gamers show Xbox 360 plenty of love
Following every holiday, Microsoft is always plenty eager to share some good news pertaining to the Xbox 360. Yesterday, they released several statements regarding the console's winter success in Europe, and today we're hearing more enthusiasm from the American-based corporation.
Microsoft has announced that the 360 broke another one of its own records by reaching 1.5 million concurrent LIVE users over this last holiday period. Looks like the 360 can be pretty popular during Christmas when LIVE is actually working!
Don Mattrick, senior VP of Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Business, didn't hesitate to share his glee:
"For Xbox, 2008 will be remembered around the world as a pivotal growth year at retail and online — even in the face of tough economic conditions. Worldwide, a record number of players flocked to our broadest games and entertainment line-up ever, while the New Xbox Experience thrilled millions of fans by making our console even more engaging. And yet, we've only provided a glimpse into the new world of interactive entertainment that we’re imagining. The best of Xbox 360 is yet to come."
Oh, he and his peers are probably much more excited than that; then again, even Peter Moore didn't use exclamation marks in his heated statement about Eurogamer.
Microsoft execs are crediting the impressive LIVE turnout to NXE and Netflix. The most popular movie downloads include The Dark Knight, Harold & Kumar 2 Escape from Guantanamo Bay, and Hellboy II: The Golden Army (great movie). Top TV shows were South Park, Family Guy, and The Office.

Best selection of Neflix movies in this new year!
