American players have had these available on VC for a little while now, at least a month or two. Sonic 2 is a bit more recent than Secret of Mana on the VC. If I didn't already own both of these games on their original platforms, I'd pick them up. Sercet of Mana is a must-play for RPG fans, and it doesn't get much better than the 3-player co-op.

You know, I thought it had come out a while back, actually. I was on the Wii Shop Channel just a few days ago and when I searched by newest releases, it was on one of the first couple of pages so I just figured they had recently released it and maybe they had released 3 or something earlier.

On a side note, I wonder if the secret level 9 weapons/spells still function the same way on the VC Secret of Mana as they did on the SNES. I'm sure the level 9 weapon orbs will just because they're a rare drop item, but the level 9 spells seemed to require specific button timing, if memory serves.

Secret of Mana was released on the North American Virtual Console on October 13th.

Also, this is the Master System version of Sonic 2, which released on the North American VC on December 8th.
