Turn your Xbox 360 into a virtual fireplace!
Apparently the Xbox 360 can double as a fireplace, thanks to the efforts of an ambitious LIVE subscriber. SniperED007 used some XNA tools to create Fireplace, an app that imitates the look and sounds of a real fireplace.
"Enjoy the awesome ambiance of a crackling fireplace in your living room. With realistic smoldering embers and flickering flames it sets the perfect backdrop for a relaxing evening," SniperED007 remarked, describing his holiday achievement.
The demo is available right now, but the full version will cost 400 MS Points. It's more or less a glorified screensaver that will cost $5, but I think it's cute anyway. Take a look:

Aside from no time limit, I wonder what the difference between the trial and full version is, if there even is any?
It's kinda neat to show your family and friends, so you could go download the demo for a kick. Otherwise... yeah, I dunno. Probably going to be saving my points.
