It's not really Nintendo unless you need peripherals!
Who is excited about being able to speak to other players while gaming with the Wii? Well be sure to pick up a Wii Speak microphone first because that's the way you'll be able to access the voice Channel.
Nintendo has confirmed that gamers will need to purchase a Wii Speak in order to gain access to the Wii Speak Channel. Each microphone will come with a one-time activation code that cannot be replaced, meaning the mics cannot be resold once used.
One of the big selling points for the Wii Speak is its ability to capture voices from multiple people in one room. Nintendo has promised that the microphone will be able to differentiate between voices and surrounding noise, effectively eliminating the issue.
North America will be seeing these peripherals on November 16, while European Wii owners will have to wait until early December.
j/k I know it won't be backwards compatible with games. I don't know if I'll want this because the only thing I know it can be used for is Animal Crossing, of which I am not a fan. BTW, the subtitle of the article is a bit odd, as you need peripherals to use voice chat on Live and PSN too.
I'm just playing on stereotypes. Don't worry, I'm mean to the other platforms too.
Only Animal Crossing was mentioned specifically.
