ESA and Mexican law enforcement team up in anti-piracy efforts
Sean Ridgeley - Tuesday, November 11th, 2008 | 10:13AM (PT)

20 tons of pirated games down the crapper

The Entertainment Software Association (ESA), has been kicking pirate arse and taking pirate names in conjunction with Mexican law enforcement lately.

According to reports, together they've seized 20 tons of pirated video game products, which includes about 91,200 games (who counts this stuff?).

More than 40 Mexican officers from the area's Procuraduría General de la República and Agencia Federal de Investigación organisations conducted raids on booths, and it was a success for which the Association is quite happy.

"Piracy in markets such as San Juan de Dios hurts businesses engaging in the legitimate distribution and retailing of computer and video games," said Michael D Gallagher, CEO of the ESA. "We commend Mexican law enforcement officials for their actions in this raid and are committed to fully supporting authorities around the world who conduct these kinds of enforcement actions."

Wait for it..wait for it..there! 91,200 video games were just sold in Mexico!
