Westwood Studios reveals their plans for a massively multiplayer online space game
Persistent state world games are heading to new horizons, and Westwood Studios (creators of the Command & Conquer series of strategy games) have revealed their intentions today to add a title of their own into this growing genre. Set centuries in the future, Earth & Beyond is set to be a MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game) that allows players to explore the mysteries of the universe, the universe being a persistent state galaxy of course.
Player characters can grow into roles (professions) of fighter, explorer, trader or any combination of these (9 variations in all). Westwood is working to make exploration and trading just as important as combat, giving players more options and freedom in developing their online characters. What and where can you explore? Planets, moons, nebulae, starports, black holes(!), capital ships, etc. There's going to be hundreds of missions designed for each of the 3 major professions.
Earth & Beyond is scheduled to ship to retail outlets later this year, and will be part of the EA GAMES family of titles. Of course, this means the game is meant be played online exclusively through EA.com.

it is highly believed that a game like Earth and beyond should be played on the computer netword around the world. Many people enjoyed that game. from which the jealouesy of EA games closed it. causing alot of people to mistrust EA games. Myself and many others are hoping a very similar games will be developed soon
