LittleBigPlanet servers went down on Tuesday, and Sony has stated that they are still "investigating the cause" of the issues.
"We are aware that the online environment of LittleBigPlanet is having server performance issues, and we are investigating the cause," Sony announced earlier this morning. "We'll have an update to the online gameplay as soon as we possibly can."
The online problems hit both players in the US and those with early access in Europe. Nevertheless, developer Media Molecule has gone ahead with the 1.03 patch, which should ease some strain off the LBP servers. They're keeping a close watch over SCEA's progress over here in the States for now, and will determine later if more changes need to be made before to the game's European launch next week.
Sony will hopefully have worked out the major bugs by then. This highly-anticipated PS3 exclusive certainly got off to a rocky start, having already experienced several delays prior to its North American release due to a controversy over an allegedly offensive song included on the soundtrack.
