It was suspected that Midway would want to tone down the sheer violence usually attached to Mortal Kombat Fatalities. After all, Scorpion ripping out Superman's heart, and then BBQ'ing it over a firey cauldron of exploding entrails would not jive well with D.C's I.P.

The following clip shows the replacement 'Heroic Brutalities' -- they aren't as bloody, but they still get the job done.

Here we have Green Lantern, Raiden, and The Flash in action.

Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe is coming out on the 10th of November for the Xbox 360 and PS3.

Is it just me or does Raiden look like a huge lardass in that artist's rendering?

Anyway, yeah, don't know about this.

This game looks funny to paly casually but I'd say it lacks perspicacity at some levels to be compared with Tekken or Soul Caliber Series. Mainly suitable for comic fans though.

"Heroic Brutality" just sounds bad - aesthetically and logically.

    Heres hoping Supes lobotomizes someone.

    360 and PS3.

Actually the Green Lantern Brutality looks good to me. The Flash should have had something a bit more hardcore though .

Mortal Kombat is famous for it's gory fatalities. If they're going to have super heroes in it, they shouldn't lower the standard of fatalities because some people that are playing the game will get offended.

Talked about this briefly in our E3 coverage but DC has 100% authority on all moves, character designs and of course brutality moves for their characters. As such it's hard for Midway to do anything on their own since it's not their character property.

The build in July had a good quality to it, fast to learn and it had a nice depth of moves to make things interesting enough, the moves were questionable though for the DC characters but I mean it's hard to really do much as DC really determines if the game can or can not ship.

I just found all those fatalities very poor. They shouldn't have involved DC if it meant toning down fatalities so badly.

They should have made the Flash one rip the guy apart. The Green Lantern one should have caused blood to explode from the corpse, and the Raiden one should have caused guts to fly everywhere. They shouldn't bother making this game PG13, but I guess since DC is in charge...

Yeah originally it was no limit to the MK lineup but they had all approval on the DC lineup. I guess at some point someone got offended and decided to request it all get toned down.
