Spore expansions to come
Creepy & Cute Parts Pack + Space phase expansion
For some, Spore gives and gives but it just doesn't give enough. EA knows how you feel and is prepared to feed your cravings in the form of two expansions.
The first is the Creepy & Cute Parts Pack, pictured below:
This will be released November 18 for $19.95, and serves as an expansion to the Creature Creator, delivering over 100 new parts divided into two types (you can guess what the two are pretty easily). It appears -- contrary to some reports -- this will be for people who purchased the full game, or just the Creator.
Next is the untitled Space stage expansion, due for Spring 2009. This one gives the Space-travelling folk in the game the ability to beam down from their ships to explore other worlds and go on new missions. More than that, you get the "Adventure creator", which will allow players to build and share their own custom-made missions. Details on how exactly this will work are likely to surface in the coming months.
While this all sounds pretty cool, is it extraneous, or worth the price? I'm not decided, myself, but I enjoy how Joystiq puts it: "So, yeah, EA is flogging Will Wright's new creation. If this comes as a surprise, we'd kindly direct you to the Sims aisles of your local game store."

But the creature expansion? $20 bucks for 100 new parts? Rip off IMO. Maybe if it was $5, or possibly even $10, it would be alright, but $20 is a lot for just an expansion to the creature creator.
Costs more than the standalone creature creator itself, doesn't it?
