Eidos and Microsoft partner up for exclusive chapters to the game.
Exclusivity is an ongoing issue in gaming these days not just for individual titles but for content as well, today we see the announcement of a new series of chapters to come to the Xbox 360 in Tomb Raider Underworld, players will get two new chapters to the game delivering up to six hours of new gameplay and content as well as a demo this month over the LIVE marketplace.
The new chapters roll in as Tomb Raider: Underworld - Beneath the Ashes and Tomb Raider: Underworld - Lara's Shadow focusing on unique approaches to the game on their own with Beneath the Ashes being a follow-up to the story after Underworld wraps up, players will explore new areas and enemies to take on with additional secrets and environments to pass through. Lara's Shadow will give players a new character and focus on a different gameplay experience to things.
The first pack will arrive this Christmas with the second pack dropping in during the early months of 2009.
It's always nice to be able to extend the life of games and it seems Microsoft just locked in a lot more sales for their port of the title, one has to ponder if Sony will sit on their hands and let this pass through or if they'll be negotiating some exclusive content of their own in response. Either way players should look forward to the title arriving on the PS3, Wii, PS2, DS, PC and of course Xbox 360 this November.
If we get any new breaking announcements for the game we'll keep you updated.
GTA IV, Fallout III, now this.
I don't care about GTA IV (never bothered to beat it), Fallout III content on the 360 pushed me off the fence to get that version (360), and while I don't have any interest in this game, if I WAS a fan, I'd probably get the 360 version.....
