We haven't covered a terrible lot of Star Ocean: First Departure, the soon-coming RPG remake for the PlayStation Portable, so let's just get a bunch out in one shot, shall we?

The game was pinned down for an October release date in Europe back in August, but now gamers will have the exact arrival date: October 24, just a few short days after the North American release. You'd kind of hope with this being Europe's first time for it, they'd get it first, but I digress.

As for specific features and notes, some of which you likely already know, here's a list:

• The game that launched the STAR OCEAN series – available in Europe for the first time
• Completely rebuilt for the PSP system, with real-time battles that keep players immersed in the action
• Brand-new, fully-voiced animated cut-scenes displayed in 16:9 widescreen, provided by anime    powerhouse Production I.G
• The private action system adds depth to the story, introducing riveting subplots between characters

John Yamamoto, president and chief executive officer of Square Enix Ltd. had this to say: "STAR OCEAN has already proved to be a popular series in Japan, we now hope that players around the world can discover why by experiencing the origin of the series. With STAR OCEAN: The Last Hope arriving in 2009, there's never been a better time to enjoy the STAR OCEAN adventure."

I might try that one in the future, If I don't like it, I'll refund it.
