New characters and campaign stage coming soon
LucasArts has recently revealed that upcoming downloadable content for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 will bring in a new mission and playable characters to Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.
There's no word on price, but the new characters coming next month will include Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ki-Adi-Mindi, and Kit Fisto. Executive producer Haden Blackman has stated that these upcoming additions to The Force Unleashed are "based on what [they] heard from fans."
The new campaign level will be set in the famous Jedi Temple on Coruscant, with a tentative release date of later this year. The stage was supposed to be included in the game's initial release but wound up dropped before The Force Unleashed entered production. Apparently a different version of the Jedi Temple stage is in the PS2, Wii, and PSP versions of the game.
Blackman suggested that more DLC would be made available in the future:
"I wouldn't rule out any future content on The Force Unleashed. There's easily another two dozen we could make into levels. This is a good way to continue the story."
That is also a good way to ensure a flow of revenue, and if it anyone is an expert on cut content, it's LucasArts. Obi-Wan was a cutie in his prime, though -- thank you, Ewan McGregor.
